American "Idol"

Kerry and I watched Tivo’d American Idol tonight. Our mouths hung open as we heard those AI kids sing our 3 year-old daughter’s favorite song, “Shout to the Lord” by Hillsong.

It’s the top rated show in America by young people and they sang a beautiful tribute to my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ! I think Gabriel the angel was right when Mary asked him how difficult tasks can be accomplished, he said, “Nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37).

Verse 1
My Jesus my SaviourLord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praiseThe wonders of Your mighty love
My comfort my Shelter Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath all that I am
Never cease to worship You

Chorus 1
Shout to the Lord All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty Praise to the King
Mountains bow down And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joyAt the work of Your hands
Forever I'll love You Forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promiseI have in You

I am proud of those AI kids and thankful for the producers. The Psalmist David would be very proud of the way the belted it out! I hope whomever had the final decision to go with Shout to the Lord instead of We are the World will be blessed beyond belief.

FYI: Here is the 4-10 version: YouTube Shout to the Lord
